PURPOSE: A liver automatic segmentation method and a system thereof are provided to use a cumulative probability map to correct a liver area which is largely modified, thereby being utilized for a plan of a bio-segmental transplant surgery. CONSTITUTION: A liver volume definition unit(310) defines an optimal liver volume value. A liver volume segmentation unit(320) segments an initial liver volume based on a brightness value of the defined optimal liver volume value. A peripheral organ removal unit(330) uses the multiple cross sectional dissection information on the segmented liver volume to remove peripheral organs. A correction unit(340) corrects a boundary line by using a modification model of a liver, which is removed with the peripheral organs, and a cumulative probability map. The correction unit uses the modification model to smoothly correct the rear surface of the liver.
