PERFUSION AND/OR PRESERVATION SOLUTION CONTAINING PEPTIDE INHIBITORS OF PROTEIN KINASE C BETA 2 AND/OR PROTEIN KINASE C ZETA AND/OR PEPTIDE ACTIVATORS OF PROTEIN KINASE C DELTA FOR ORGANS
Discloses a solution when used for perfusion, preservation, or re-perfusion for organ preservation comprising at least peptide inhibitor of protein kinase C æ (PKC æ) or Gö 6983 as an inhibitor of PKC æ, where said organ is a human organ external to and isolated from a human body or a non-human organ. Further disclosed are optional components of the claimed solution which comprise: at least one myristoylated or non- myristoylated peptide inhibitor of PKCz at about 2.5-5mM, at least one myristoylated or non- myristoylated peptide activator of PKC d at about 5-10mM, a saline solution and/or potassium chloride. Further provided are methods for perfusion, preservation, or re-perfusion of an organ using the claimed solution. Also provided are uses of the solution comprising at least one peptide inhibitor of PKCz or Gö56983 as an inhibitor of PKCz for the preparation of a perfusion or preservation solution for an organ of human origin. The said organ is located in a human patient prior to transplantation, in an organ suffering from ischemia, or after isolation from the circulatory system.
