A device for assessing and stimulating the respiratory function comprises - a first chamber (2) in the shape of an upright cylinder containing a first mobile obstacle (4) for assessment of the total volume inhaled, and - a second chamber (1) comprising a lower part tapering towards the bottom and containing a second mobile obstacle (3) for assessment of the inhalation flow. The first chamber (2) with the second chamber (1) communicates, via a communication tube (6). The mobile obstacles (3, 4) are free to move vertically in the chambers (1, 2) the chambers (1, 2) and the communication tube (6) have an open lower section that provides communication with the outside.Linvention concerne un dispositif qui permet de mesurer et de stimuler la fonction respiratoire, ce dispositif comprenant : une première chambre (2) en forme de cylindre vertical qui contient un premier obstacle mobile (4) servant à mesurer le volume total inhalé et une seconde chambre (1) qui comprend une partie inférieure se rétrécissant en direction du fond et qui contient une second obstacle mobile (3) servant à mesurer le flux dinhalation. La première chambre (2) communique avec la seconde chambre (1) à travers un tube de communication (6). Les obstacles mobiles (3, 4) sont libres de se déplacer verticalement dans les chambres (1, 2) les chambres (1, 2) et le tube de communication (6) comportent une section inférieure ouverte qui permet de communiquer avec lextérieur.
