Described herein are phenolic compositions derived from apple skins. In particular, described herein are flavonoid-rich fractions derived from apple skin extract. The compositions are useful in the prevention and treatment of conditions associated with oxidative stress and/or inflammation, including certain neurodegenerative diseases.
