Hair conditioning composition comprising reducing agent, alkalising agent, conditioning agent and a buffering agent. The reducing agent is selected from ammonium thioglycolate, ammonium thiolactate, and mixtures thereof. The conditioning agent selected from silicone compounds, cationic surfactants, and mixtures thereof. The composition has a pH of from pH 7.5 to pH 9.5 and a particular viscosity. The composition is substantially free of an additional reducing agent capable of reducing disulfide bonds in keratin fibres. Also associated methods, processes, kits and uses.
