PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article which suppresses an influence on the skin by liquid diffusion without causing excess diffusion in the longitudinal direction of the liquid absorbed in a center high part, prevents the diffusion of the liquid from being easily obstructed by a leakage preventing groove provided on the rear part, and prevents side leakage from easily occurring at the rear part.

SOLUTION: An absorbent 4 has the center high part M which is continued from the excretion area A of the absorbent article 1 to the rear part C and is thicker than a peripheral part, and an outer groove 7 for integrating a surface sheet 2 and the absorbent 4 is formed respectively on the outer side in the width direction of the center high part M at least on the skin abutting surface of the absorbent article 1. On the skin abutting surface of the absorbent article 1, a center groove 8 extending in the width direction of the absorbent article 1 is formed near the rear end in the excretion area A, and both end parts 81 of the center groove 8 are positioned more on the outer side in the width direction than the center high part M and separated from the outer groove 7, respectively.
