To obtain a catheter for intestinal insertion capable of using a much shorter guide wire than that in a conventional method when the catheter is inserted along a guide wire which is previously inserted to a target site by an endoscope operation.
SOLUTION: The catheter includes: a tubular member having at least a main lumen penetrating from a proximal end opening part to a distal end opening part and a lumen for balloon inflation a guide member which is located ON the distal end side of the tubular member and guides the tubular member to an affected part a balloon member which is located ON the tubular member at the proximal end side closer to the guide member a plurality of suction holes penetrating to the main lumen of the tubular member from the outer surface of the tubular member at the proximal end side closer to the installation site of the balloon member and a first guide wire penetrating to the main lumen from the outer surface of the tubular member at the proximal end side much closer to the plurality of suction holes and inserted from the distal end opening part of the main lumen of the tubular member and an opening member capable of taking the first guide wire to the outside of the tubular member.
