PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for manufacturing a rice ball, capable of manufacturing a rice ball with a rice density as low as possible while surely retaining the rice ball shape after molding, allowing a pressing region on the surface to be evenly displaced without increase in the rice density at a specific spot to be pressed for shaping on the surface of the rice mass, with a reliable shaping operation along the entire surface using a light pressing force, requiring no highly compressive shaping.SOLUTION: A pressing region on the surface of a rice mass molded into a specific shape is pressed for shaping.
