PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for reducing an amount of applied fertilizer to a raising seedling culture medium without lowering a quality of seedling, in paper cylinder raising seedling of sugar beet.SOLUTION: This method for reducing an amount of applied fertilizer includes using, in paper cylinders for raising seedling of sugar beet, a raising seedling culture medium which is obtained by mixing ground chaff with raising seedling soil followed by mixing fertilizer therewith. As a result of this, an amount of applied fertilizer can be reduced without lowering a quality of sugar beet seedlings (especially, a raw weight of a root part as the main usage part of sugar beet) than the case of using a culture medium which is obtained by applying a standard amount of applied fertilizer (50.0 kg fertilizer per a culture medium of 60 sugar beet paper cylinders), to raising seedling soil, and the whole raising seedling culture medium can be lightened.COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】甜菜の紙筒育苗において、苗質を低下させないで育苗培地への施肥量を減らす方法を提供する。【解決手段】甜菜の紙筒育苗において、擂潰籾殻を育苗土壌と混合し、それに肥料を混合してなる育苗培地を使用することで、甜菜の苗質(特に甜菜の主な利用部位である根部生重)を育苗土壌に標準施肥量(甜菜紙筒60冊の培地あたり肥料50.0kg)を施肥した培地を使用した場合よりも低下させることなく施肥量を減らすことができ、かつ、育苗培地全体の軽量化も図ることができる。【選択図】なし
