PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diagnostic examination system that makes convenient for carriage of a diagnostic examination apparatus for subjecting samples obtained from living bodies or the like to diagnostic examination and minimizes opportunities for an examiner to use a diagnostic instrument with an examination medium from a brand or a lot not calibrated with the instrument.SOLUTION: A diagnostic examination apparatus is provided with an interface (410) for accepting an examination medium in executing a diagnostic examination, a controller (400) configured so as to conduct a diagnostic examination or examinations, an indicator (450) for indicating the result of the diagnostic examination or examinations, and data corresponding to at least one of a period, date, the number of diagnostic examinations conducted, and the quantity of the medium for use in the diagnostic examinations. The controller (400), when a triggering event has occurred, not only invalidates the automatic turning-on function of the instrument, the diagnostic examining function of the instrument or some other functions of the instrument but also reconstructs the instrument to perform a new function.【課題】生体などから取得したサンプルについて診断検査を行う診断検査装置において、持ち運びに便利であるとともに、ユーザが診断計器を、その計器についての校正がなされていないブランド又はロットからの検査媒体とともに使用する機会を最小限に抑えることのできる診断検査システムを提供する。【解決手段】診断検査装置は、診断検査を実行する際に検査媒体を受けるためのインターフェース（４１０）と、診断検査を実行するように構成されたコントローラ（４００）と、診断検査の結果を表示するためのインジケータ（４５０）と、期間、日付、診断検査の回数、及び診断検査用の媒体の数量のうち少なくとも１つに相当するデータと、を備える。コントローラ（４００）は、トリガリングイベントが発生したときに、計器の自動オン機能、計器の診断検査機能又は計器の他の機能を無効にするとともに、新たな機能を実行するように計器を再構成する。【選択図】 図４
