PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plaque removing material and a method for removing plaque using it, which is free from precipitating and solidifying in a tooth surface cleaner causing insufficient jetting, free from clogging a nozzle, free from giving nasty taste to a patient, and which can be used even by a patient who is restricted of taking salt content.SOLUTION: This plaque removing material comprises water-soluble &alpha glucan as the polishing material ingredient which is jetted with water or water and compressed air. The polishing material ingredient is preferably the water-soluble &alpha glucan produced by one or two or more glucosyltransferases selected from "GTF-P1", "GTF-P2" and "GTF-P4", most preferably the water-soluble &alpha glucan produced by the glucosyltransferase "GTF-P2".COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】 歯面清掃器内で沈殿して固まってしまい噴射が不十分となることが無く、ノズルが目詰まりしてしまうこともなく、患者がその味を不快に感じることもなく、また塩分摂取制限のある患者にも使用可能なプラーク除去材及びそれを用いたプラーク除去方法を提供する。【解決手段】 水または水と圧縮空気と共に噴射される研磨材成分が、水溶性のαグルカンであることを特徴とするプラーク除去材とする。研磨材成分は、「GTF-P1」,「GTF-P2」,「GTF-P4」から選ばれる1種類または2種以上のグルコシルトランスフェラーゼによって生成された水溶性のαグルカンであることが好ましく、グルコシルトランスフェラーゼ「GTF-P2」によって生成された水溶性のαグルカンであることが最も好ましい。【選択図】 なし
