PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a soil improvement agent capable of efficiently obtaining the work of microorganisms and capable of promoting the growth of field crops, and a method for producing the soil improvement agent.SOLUTION: Provided is a soil improvement agent including: bamboo powder； microorganisms； a fermentation accelerator； and mineral. The microorganisms may be aerobic microorganisms. The fermentation accelerator may at least either the pomace of potato or the pomace of soybean. The mass mixing ratio of the mineral may be 0.1 to 10% to the whole of the soil improvement agent.
