To provide a catheter where a position of a tip part is stable and which is unlikely to be pressed back to a base end side by operation of a device for treatment, and a method for the same.SOLUTION: A catheter 10 includes: a shaft body 12 which has an inner layer 20 in which a lumen 18 is formed, a linear reinforcing body 22 provided on an outer periphery of the inner layer 20, and an outer layer 24 covering the reinforcing body 22； and a lubricant layer 30 composed of a low friction material covering the outer peripheral surface of the shaft body 12.
