This invention is related to a technique of SPECT image quantitation in nuclear medicine, particularly the measurement of bone standardized uptake value (SUV), lean SUV (SUL) and metabolic volume, and the application of this technique in evaluation of bone function. The practical steps include imaging acquisition, isotope decay correction, scatter correction, motion correction, attenuation correction, resolution recovery and noise reduction.
