A method and apparatus with a processor are provided for providing guidance for placement of a wearable device. At least one image of the subject's body is acquired from one or more cameras (502). At least one captured image is analyzed to recognize the body part of the subject and identify the body part of the subject on which the wearable device is to be placed (504).
