PURPOSE: A composition containing retinoid, NF-kappaB inhibitor and cosmetically acceptable local carrier is provided to synergistically enhance retinol activity and to be applied onto the skin. CONSTITUTION: A composition contains retinoid, NF-kappaB inhibitor, and cosmetically acceptable local carrier. The amount of the retinoid is less than 0.75 wt%. The NF-kappaB inhibitor is selected from the group consisting of substituted resorcinol, tetrahydrocurcuminoid, (E)-3-(4-methylphenylsulfonyl)-2-propenenitrile, or combination thereof.
