Mini-inertial navigation system for use in smartphone for position measurement in e.g. forest, implements calculations with floating- and fixed-point numbers and combines global positioning system signal with signals of broadcasting towers
The system measures position and movement of a body interferometrically and by laser from predefined positions. Chambers/tubes are surrounded by magnetic field or electrostatic field such that an external field and a specific induced field within the chambers/tubes are cancelled so that the body is unaffected. Calculations with floating-point numbers and fixed-point numbers are implemented on UPS devices. A global positioning system (GPS) signal is combined with signals of broadcasting towers e.g. towers for mobile telephone and long range navigation (Loran) systems.
