PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cosmetic comprising a copolymer that simultaneously achieves both good compatibility with various kinds of oily agents and adhesion to the skin or the hair to thereby provide a cosmetic that is less sticky, extends smoothly, imparts a refreshing feeling of use, is highly water-repellent and safe to the skin, gives a good feeling of use and is excellently persistent.SOLUTION: The cosmetic comprises a copolymer (A) constituted of at least a monomer unit (I): a silicone macromonomer represented by formula (1) a monomer unit (II): a (meth)acrylate monomer or a (meth)acrylamide monomer a monomer unit (III): a hydrophilic monomer and a monomer unit (IV): a radically polymerizable hydrophobic monomer, as essential ingredients.
