PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nerve stimulation apparatus capable of continuing to apply nerve stimulation even if stimulating electrodes are somewhat out of place after being indwelled.SOLUTION: A nerve stimulation apparatus 1 comprises: stimulating electrodes 6a-6d a stimulation signal generation unit 101 for generating a stimulation signal to be applied to the stimulating electrodes an electrode selection unit 102 for selecting a pair of stimulating electrodes to which the stimulation signal is applied, from among the stimulating electrodes 6a-6d a detection sensor 7 and a detection unit 103 for detecting a response of a patient and a control unit 104 for controlling the operation of the electrode selection unit 102 and of the stimulation signal generation unit 101 to exert electric stimulation. The control unit 104 calculates the amount of effect of the electric stimulation to determine the effect of the electric stimulation on the basis of the detection value of the response of the patient detected by the detection unit 103 when the electric stimulation is provided.
