PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pearl-like brighteners which do not reduce foaming power (foam volume) of detergents without compounding various surfactants at precise ratios, and without controlling complicated operation for crystallizing or without using a special cooling device when producing detergents, while being capable of excellent giving pearl-like brightness to the detergents.SOLUTION: The present invention provides a pearl-like brightener containing the following components (A) to (D), wherein the mass ratio (A)/((B)+(C)) of the total of component (B) and component (C) with respect to component (A) is 0.8 to 1.0, and the mass ratio (B)/((B)+(C)) of the total of component (B) and component (C) with respect to component (B) is 0.4 to 0.95.
