The present invention relates to the field of polymer chemistry, and more specifically to multi-block copolymers and micelles containing them. The compositions herein are useful for drug delivery applications. According to one embodiment, the present invention comprises a polymeric hydrophilic block, an optionally crosslinkable or cross-linked poly (amino acid block), and a hydrophobic D, L-mixed poly (amino acid) block.
