A compact single-axis confocal endomicroscope is provided, capable of complying with 2.8 mm diameter endoscope space requirements. The single-axis confocal endomicroscope uses a folded path design achieved between a fixed mirror and a lateral plane scanning mirror thereby producing high numerical apertures that allow for diffraction-limited resolution in sub-surface scanning. The scanning mirror has a central aperture that allows for illumination beam expansion in the folded path design.La présente invention concerne un endomicroscope confocal à axe unique compact, capable de se conformer aux exigences d'espace d'endoscope de 2,8 mm de diamètre. L'endomicroscope confocal à axe unique utilise une conception de trajet replié atteinte entre un miroir fixe et un miroir de balayage à plan latéral produisant ainsi des ouvertures numériques élevées qui permettent une résolution limitée de la diffraction dans le balayage de sous-surface. Le miroir de balayage présente une ouverture centrale qui permet l'expansion du faisceau d'éclairage dans la conception de trajet replié.
