Use of precursor compound of a sweet taste receptor antagonist, preferably taste receptor type 1 member 2 (T1R2)/taste receptor type 1 member 3 (T1R3)-receptor antagonist or a mixture of two or more precursor compounds of one or more different sweet taste receptor-antagonists, to prevent or treat diseases, especially diabetes, particularly diabetes type 2 is new, where the precursor compound is not 2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionic acid 3-[2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionyloxy]-propyl ester and/or 5-{6-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-1,2,3-tris-[2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionyloxy]-5-oxo-heptyl}-2-methyl-furan-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester. Independent claims are included for: (1) lactisole-precursor compound of formula (I) or its mixture, where (I) excludes the following compounds: (I; R = methyl, ethyl or butyl), 2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionic acid 3-[2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionyloxy]-propyl ester, 5-{6-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-1,2,3-tris-[2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionyloxy]-5-oxo-heptyl}-2-methyl-furan-3-carboxylic acid methyl ester, 2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionic acid 4'-hydroxy-biphenyl-4-yl ester, 4-(6-acryloyloxy-hexyloxy)-benzoic acid 4'-[2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionyloxy]-biphenyl-4-yl ester, 4-(11-acryloyloxy-undecyloxy)-benzoic acid 4'-[2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionyloxy]-biphenyl-4-yl ester, 2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionic acid 4'-benzyloxy-biphenyl-4-yl ester, 2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionic acid 2-methyleneaminooxy-ethyl ester, 2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy)-propionic acid 4,4-dimethyl-2-oxo-1-phenyl-pyrrolidin-3-yl ester, and 2-(4-methoxy-phenoxy) -propionic acid 2,6-di-tert-butyl-4-methyl-phenyl ester; and (2) a nutrition-, consumable- or semi-finished preparation comprising the precursor compound or its mixture, and/or one or more further components (A).
