A wrapper (10) for an absorbent pad such as a sanitary towel, incontinence pad or wound dressing (12) optionally made from biodegradable material, comprising a cruciform shaped flexible sheet, with a central panel (14) and flaps (16, 18, 20, 22) extending from each side of the central panel. Flaps may have a surface area greater than half the area of the central panel and may be arranged into pairs of the same size and shape opposite one another. A bridging portion (Fig 1a, 24) extends from the central panel between adjacent flaps. Flaps and bridging portions are foldable inwardly to lie over the central panel, the bridging portions closing the corners of the package preventing gaps between adjacent flaps. Bridging portions may be triangular or sector-shaped. Flaps may be rectangular or trapezoidal. There may be a closure device to retain the flaps once folded over the central panel which may be a re-usable sticker.
