The present invention relates to a steerable tube for endoscopic applications comprising a first, a second and a third part. The first part comprises a first movable portion and the third part comprises a second movable portion. The steerable tube comprises longitudinal elements that are constructed and arranged such that a change in orientation of the first movable portion of the first part with respect to the second part results in a change in orientation of the second movable portion of the third part with respect to the second part. The longitudinal elements are constructed and arranged such that they are twisted and/or that they are twistable. The present invention also relates to an endoscopic instrument and an endoscope comprising a steerable tube according to the invention.
