Provides is the use of an agent in the preparation of a composition for suppressing food intake, wherein the agent comprises an insulinotropic peptide conjugate, wherein the conjugate is prepared by linking an insulinotropic peptide with an immunoglobulin Fc region via a non-peptidyl linker selected from the group consisting of SMCC (succinimidyl 4-(N-maleimido-methyl)cyclohexane-1- carboxylate), SFB (succinimidyl 4-formylbenzoate), polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, polyvinylpyrrolidone, copolymers of ethylene glycol and propylene glycol, polyoxyethylated polyols, polyvinyl alcohol, polysaccharides, dextran, polyvinyl ethyl ether, biodegradable polymers selected from the group comprising PLA (poly(lactic acid) and PLGA (polylactic-glycolic acid), lipid polymers, chitins, hyaluronic acid, and combinations thereof, wherein the insulinotropic peptide is an exendin-4 or derivatives thereof, and wherein the derivatives are selected from the group consisting of a derivative prepared by removing the N-terminal amine group of exendin-4, a derivative prepared by substituting the N-terminal amine group with a hydroxyl group, a derivative prepared by modifying the N-terminal amine group with two methyl residues, a derivative prepared by deleting the alpha carbon of the first amino acid (histidine), and a derivative prepared by substituting the twelfth amino acid (lysine) with serine or arginine.
