PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus or the like that can collect desired image data in a short time.SOLUTION: A pre-set condition storage unit stores a plurality of mother pre-set conditions for which at least image data gathering conditions are set beforehand, and assorted sub pre-set conditions set beforehand by updating all or a portion of image data gathering conditions included in each of the mother pre-set conditions, and from the pre-set condition storage unit the assorted sub pre-set conditions corresponding to the selected mother pre-set conditions are read. The sub pre-set condition suitable for ultrasonic examination of a subject is selected from among the assorted sub pre-set conditions that were read. With respect to the units involved in generating image data, image data gathering conditions based on the selected mother pre-set conditions are initialized, and image data gathering conditions are updated using the selected sub pre-set conditions.【課題】所望の画像データを短時間で収集することが可能な超音波診断装置等を提供すること。【解決手段】少なくとも画像データ収集条件について予め設定された複数のマザープリセット条件と、各マザープリセット条件に含まれる画像データ収集条件の全てあるいはその一部を更新することにより予め設定された各種サブプリセット条件と、を保管するプリセット条件保管ユニットから、選択された前記マザープリセット条件に対応する各種サブプリセット条件を読み出す。当該読み出された各種サブプリセット条件の中から、被検体の超音波検査に好適なサブプリセット条件を選択し、画像データの生成に関与する各ユニットに対し、選択された前記マザープリセット条件に基づいた画像データ収集条件を初期設定し、更に、選択された前記サブプリセット条件を用いて画像データ収集条件を更新する。【選択図】図１
