PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pharmaceutical composition accelerating re-epithelialization, especially the re-epithelialization of corneal tissue.SOLUTION: The use of xanthan gum as an active ingredient of the proliferation of epitheliocytes and the ophthalmic re-epithelializing pharmaceutical composition consisting of the same and a pharmacologically acceptable additive in a gel form, formed in advance are provided. Also, the pharmaceutical formulation is provided that contains xanthan gum as the re-epithelializing active ingredient finally to be mixed with hyaluronic acid.
