1. A method of treating ptosis in a subject, comprising administering an effective amount of oxymetazoline to the outer surface of the eye of a subject in need of said treatment. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the introduction leads to an increase in the vertical distance between the upper and lower eyelids of the eye by at least 10 percent. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that oxymetazoline is prepared in the form of a pharmaceutical composition containing at least 0.05 weight percent oxymetazoline in an ophthalmologically acceptable carrier. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that oxymetazoline is presented in the form of a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of oxymetazoline. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the introduction is the introduction of one drop. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the introduction is an introduction at least once a day. The method according to claim 1, characterized in that the subject does not have an allergic state of the eye requiring treatment of the eye with oxymetazoline, there is no edema of the eyelid, and the subject has not undergone refractive eye surgery.
