The present invention relates to a powered weeder, which can safely and efficiently perform a weeding task by performing a forward operation and a backward operation at once in the state that a forward shift has been made so as to facilitate performing the forward/backward movement when encountering obstacles. The powered weeder of the present invention comprises wheels operated by the power, which has been delivered from an engine installed in a frame through a transmission； a weeding frame connected to a weeder mission so as to weed with the delivered engine power in front of the frame, and installed to have a weeding blade at the lower part； and auxiliary wheels installed in an auxiliary wheel frame projected forward and backward on both sides of the upper part of the weeding frame. The powered weeder further comprises a power switch mounted on a handle connected to the rear of the frame, and an improved transmission unit connected to the power switch within the transmission to perform the operation of forward or backward movement with the power of the engine so that the forward and backward operation can be performed at once by selecting the power switch without operation of a transmission shift lever.본 발명은 동력제초기를 전,후진시키는 동작을 전진변속이 이루어진 상태에서 전진과 후진작동을 한번에 이루어지게 함으로서 장애물을 만난 상태에서 전,후진을 용이하게 하여 안전하고 효율적으로 제초작업을 수행할 수 있도록 한 것으로서；프레임에 장착되는 엔진으로부터 동력을 트랜스미션을 통하여 전달받아 구동하는 바퀴와, 상기 프레임의 전방에 엔진의 동력을 전달받아 제초작업 할 수 있도록 제초기미션으로 연결되고 하방에 제초날을 가지고 설치되는 제초프레임과, 상기 제초프레임의 상방 양측에 전,후방향으로 돌출되는 보조바퀴프레임에 보조바퀴를 장착하여 구성되는 동력제초기에 있어서；상기 프레임의 후방에 연결되는 핸들에 장착되는 동력절환부와, 상기 트랜스미션 내부에서 동력절환부와 연결되어 엔진의 동력을 전진 또는 후진시키는 동작을 수행하는 변속부를 개선하여 동력절환부의 선택에 의하여 전진과 후진작동이 변속레버의 조작 없이 한번에 이루어질 수 있도록 구성하는 것이 특징이다.
