An ultrasonic probe having a power supply switching function is provided to reduce an undesired operating time of a user by switching electric power supplied thereto. An ultrasonic probe(110) having a power supply switching function includes a sensing unit(112), a control unit(113), and a first switch(114). The sensing unit senses periodically operating states of the ultrasonic probe having the power supply switching function. The control unit generates different kinds of control signals according to the operating states of the ultrasonic probe.
