PURPOSE: An antiviral composition containing Aleurites cordata extract or fraction thereof is provided to ensure strong antiviral activity. CONSTITUTION: An antiviral composition contains Aleurites cordata extract or fraction thereof as an active ingredient. The Aleurites cordata extract is obtained by extracting dried Aleurites cordata leaves, stems, or fruits with water, low alcohol of C1-C2, or mixture solvent thereof. The low alcohol is ethanol or methanol. The fraction is obtained by fractioning the Aleurites cordata extract with an organic solvent such as hexane, ethyl acetate, or butanol.본 발명은 유동(Aleuritesfordii) 추출물 또는 이의 분획물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 항바이러스용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 유동 추출물 또는 이의 분획물은 자연살해(natural killer, NK)세포에서 면역 관련 사이토카인인 인터페론-감마(interferon-γ, IFN-γ)의 분비 유도성을 갖고, NK 세포 활성화를 통해 강력한 항바이러스 활성을 나타내므로, 바이러스성 질환에 탁월한 효과가 있으므로 항바이러스용 조성물에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
