PURPOSE: An antiviral composition containing Daphne kiusiana extract or fraction is provided to ensure strong antiviral activity. CONSTITUTION: An antiviral composition contains Daphne kiusiana extract or fraction thereof as an active ingredient. The Daphne kiusiana extract is isolated using water, low alcohol of C1-C2, or mixture solvent thereof from dried Daphne kiusiana leaves, stems, flowers, and roots. The low alcohol is ethanol or methanol. The fraction is obtained using an organic solvent such as hexane, ethyl acetate, or butanol.본 발명은 백서향(Daphnekiusiana) 추출물 또는 이의 분획물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 항바이러스용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 더욱 상세하게는 백서향 추출물 또는 이의 분획물은 자연살해(natural killer, NK)세포에서 면역 관련 사이토카인인 인터페론-감마(interferon-γ, IFN-γ)의 분비 유도성을 통해 강력한 항바이러스 활성을 나타내어 바이러스성 질환에 탁월한 효과가 있으므로 항바이러스용 조성물에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
