PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical device which enables an ultrasonic wave to effectively act on a living body for developing or newly forming a blood vessel.SOLUTION: A medical device 1 for improving the ischemic state of the heart by developing or newly forming at least one of a coronary artery and minute blood vessels extending from the coronary artery comprises a sheath 2 which can be inserted to the coronary artery or coronary vein percutaneously, an irradiation part 4 which is provided on a distal side of the sheath 2 and can emit an ultrasonic wave, and an expansion part 5 which expands in a direction intersecting the axial line of the sheath 2 in an insertion object lumen to incline the irradiation part 4 to one side.
