The invention describes a multilayer material comprising at least one first layer made of polymeric material having an upper face and a second layer made of closed cell foamed polymeric material having a lower face. The multilayer material comprises through holes which cross both the layers and occupy a surface of between 1 and 40% of the total surface of the upper face of said multilayer material. The multilayer material is advantageously used in an absorbent sanitary article in which the upper face of the first layer is positioned externally so that in use it is in contact with the users skin and the lower face of the second layer is positioned towards the inside of the sanitary article in contact with other layers of polymeric material.Linvention concerne un matériau multicouche comprenant au moins une première couche constituée dun matériau polymère ayant une face supérieure et une deuxième couche constituée dun matériau polymère expansé à cellules fermées ayant une face inférieure. Le matériau multicouche comprend des trous débouchants qui traversent les deux couches et occupent une surface comprise entre 1 et 40 % de la surface totale de la face supérieure dudit matériau multicouche. Le matériau multicouche est avantageusement utilisé dans un article hygiénique absorbant dans lequel la face supérieure de la première couche est positionnée à lextérieur de sorte que durant lutilisation, elle est en contact avec la peau de lutilisateur et la face inférieure de la deuxième couche est positionnée vers lintérieur de larticle hygiénique en contact avec dautres couches de matériau polymère.
