The invention describes a multilayer material comprising at least one first layer made of polymeric material having an upper face and a second layer made of closed cell foamed polymeric material having a lower face. The multilayer material comprises through holes which cross both the layers and occupy a surface of between 1 and 40% of the total surface of the upper face of said multilayer material. The multilayer material is advantageously used in an absorbent sanitary article in which the upper face of the first layer is positioned externally so that in use it is in contact with the users skin and the lower face of the second layer is positioned towards the inside of the sanitary article in contact with other layers of polymeric material.La invención describe un material multicapa que comprende al menos una primera capa hecha de material polimérico que tiene una cara superior y una segunda capa hecha de material polimérico espumado de celda cerrada que tiene una cara inferior. El material multicapa comprende orificios que atraviesan ambas capas y ocupan una superficie de entre 1 y 40% de la superficie total de la cara superior de dicho material multicapa. El material multicapa se usa ventajosamente en un artículo sanitario absorbente en el cual la cara superior de la primera capa está posicionada externamente, de manera que cuando esté en uso se encuentre en contacto con la piel del usuario, y la cara inferior de la segunda capa esté posicionada hacia el interior del artículo sanitario en contacto con otras capas de material polimérico.
