A method of preparing a surgical site includes the steps of: disposing a preparation material with a selected surface of a patient body, the selected surface includes a sterile region having a boundary； engaging a first applicator with the selected surface and moving the first applicator along a path from a first incision site of the selected surface to the boundary； engaging a second surgical applicator with the selected surface and moving the second applicator along a path from a second incision site of the selected surface to the boundary, the path of the first applicator intersecting the path of the second applicator.
