PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope apparatus which has a display device with high visibility and prevents light from the display device from obstructing a view during diagnosis or treatment.
SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope includes a display means for displaying images, a brightness control means for controlling a brightness of the images to be displayed on the display means, an entry means used by a user of the apparatus to enter information, and a brightness changing means for reducing the brightness of the image by controlling the brightness control means when there is no entries from the entry means for at least a prescribed period of time.
