Disclosed are (N)-methanocarba adenine nucleosides, e.g., of formula (I) ashighly potent A3 adenosine receptoragonists, pharmaceutical compositions comprising such nucleosides, and amethod of use of these nucleosides, wherein R1-R6 areas defined in the specification.
