The sensor unit of the device attached to the skin surface portion includes a base having a concave portion in which the piezoelectric element of the pressure sensor is installed. The unit further comprises a flexible membrane mounted on the base and overlapping the recess. The first and second electrodes are attached to the outer surface of the membrane. The first electrode may be mounted on the opposite side of the recess and may be moved with the membrane. A second static electrode surrounds the first electrode. A center support is mounted between the first electrode and the piezoelectric element. When connected to the electrical output of the impedance measurement sensor, the first and second electrodes are aligned to contact the skin surface. This embodiment makes the size of the sensor unit smaller.
