The present disclosure relates to virtual and augmented reality imaging and visualization systems in healthcare settings. Wearable devices can present virtual content to the wearer for many uses in healthcare settings. The wearer may be a patient or a health care provider (HCP). Such applications may include, but are not limited to, accessing, displaying, and modifying patient medical records and sharing patient medical records among authorized HCPs. Patient medical records are stored in a central location and may be owned by the patient, rather than by various HCP organizations (eg, hospitals, clinics, doctor's offices) where the service may be used by the patient.
