Verifying whether a magnetic field resistance mechanism is properly engaged ina drainagevalve having an adjustable valve unit including a rotating construct and apair of primarymagnetic elements for programming the valve unit. Using a toolset, adetermination is madewhether the magnetic field resistance mechanism is properly engaged. An alertis generatedwhether the magnetic field resistance mechanism is at least one of properlyengaged or notproperly engaged based on: (i) a measured angular position of a detected oneof the pair ofprimary magnetic elements relative to a direction of flow of fluid through thevalve; and/or(ii) a measured distance separation between respective centers of the pair ofprimary magneticelements.
