The movement ability evaluation device includes a communication unit and a control unit. The communication unit is configured to acquire longitudinal acceleration, lateral acceleration, and vertical acceleration measured by an acceleration sensor attached to the waist of the subject while the subject is moving. The control unit is configured to evaluate the moving ability of the subject based on temporal changes of the longitudinal acceleration, the lateral acceleration, and the vertical acceleration acquired by the communication unit.
