The invention relates to a honey-based skin care preparation, wherein thehoney is entrapped within an aqueous polymeric gel. The skin care preparationis suitable for healing wounds on the one hand and for cosmetic use on theother hand. Preferably, the skin care preparation comprises a humectant, suchas glycerin, amongst other substances, in addition to honey and a polymericgel. Furthermore, the polymeric gel may contain additional ingredients.
