The present invention relates to a composition for epimerization of a hexose biphosphate, including a thermophile-derived sugar epimerase, and a method for preparing a hexose biphosphate epimer using the composition. The thermophile-derived sugar epimerase according to the present invention can effectively derive an epimerization reaction of a hexose biphosphate and can easily produce an epimer form of the hexose biphosphate, in particular a rare sugar hexose, and thus can be usefully utilized in the pharmaceutical and food industry.본 발명은 호열균 유래 당 에피머화효소를 포함하는, 비인산헥소오스의 에피머화용 조성물 및 이 조성물을 이용한 비인산헥소오스 에피머의 제조 방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 호열균 유래 당 에피머화효소는 비인산헥소오스의 에피머화 반응을 효과적으로 유도하며, 비인산헥소오스의 에피머 형태, 특히 희귀헥소오스당을 용이하게 수득할 수 있는바, 제약 및 식품산업에서 유용하게 활용될 수 있다.
