PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spinning reel with a handle not rotating in the line unwinding direction in which the rotation of the handle to any direction can be transmitted to a rotor at all times without operating an operation member.SOLUTION: A spinning reel 100 includes a handle 1, a reel body 2, a spool shaft 8, a spool 4, a rotor 3, a rotation transmission mechanism 5 and a rotation control mechanism 6. The rotation transmission mechanism 5 has a drive shaft 10 with the handle 1 rotatably connected integrally, a drive gear 11 integrally rotatable with the drive shaft 10, and a pinion gear 12 disposed in an outer peripheral side of the spool shaft 8 and engaged with the drive gear 11.
