The present invention relates to a long-acting interferon beta formulation having improved in vivo duration and stability, comprising an interferon beta conjugate that is prepared by covalently linking interferon beta with an immunoglobulin Fc region via a non-peptidyl polymer, and a preparation method thereof. The long-acting interferon beta formulation of the present invention maintains in vivo activity of interferon beta at a relatively high level and remarkably increases the serum half-life thereof, thereby being used for various diseases, for which interferon is efficacious.本發明係有關具有改良之活體內作用時效及穩定性之長效β干擾素製劑及其製法，該長效β干擾素製劑包含由β干擾素藉非肽基聚合物而與免疫球蛋白Fc區共價連結所製成之β干擾素接合物。本發明之長效β干擾素製劑可維持相當高之β干擾素活體內活性且顯著延長其血清半衰期，因此可用於能以干擾素有效治療之各種不同疾病。
