PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic endoscope system capable of performing white balance processing of ordinary light and performing white balance processing of special light accurately and in a short time.SOLUTION: An electronic endoscope system provided with light irradiation means capable of selectively irradiating one of a wide-band light and a narrow-band light, and white balance adjusting means for executing white balance processing for an imaging signal from imaging means includes: first white balance correction value calculation means for converting the imaging signal to a first RGB primary color signal when the white balance adjusting means irradiates a reference chart by the wide-band light, and calculating a first white balance correction value for the wide-band light based on the first RGB primary color signal, and second white balance correction value calculation means for converting the imaging signal to a third RGB primary color signal when the reference chart is irradiated by the wide-band light, and calculating a second white balance correction value for the narrow-band light based on the third RGB primary color signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
