PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately and easily evaluate the delayed fracture characteristics of metallic materials to be used under an atmospheric corrosion environment.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for evaluating the delayed fracture characteristics of metallic materials by carrying out once or more a process which consists of a process (A) of making components mainly containing chloride adhere to metallic materials and a process (B) of carrying out at least once a cycle, which includes applying a drying process (b1) of drying a metallic material surface and a wetting process (b2) of wetting the metallic material surface by changing relative humidity to the metallic material passing through the process (A).
