Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for reconstructing an image. The apparatus of the present invention reconstructs an image corresponding to a different position from an image obtained by capturing an object pressed by one position. The apparatus, which reconstructs an image from an image obtained by capturing an object by using X-ray, comprises: an image generating unit which generates an X-ray image in position 1 based on X-ray passing through an object pressed by the position 1； an attenuation coefficient estimating unit which estimates an attenuation coefficient in a three-dimensional space from the captured images in the position 1； and an image composing unit which composes an X-ray image in position 2 from the attenuation coefficient based on a deformation model corresponding to the position 1 and a deformation model corresponding to the position 2 in which the object is pressed by a position different from the position 1.하나의 포지션으로 압박된 피검사체를 촬영한 영상으로부터 다른 포지션에 해당하는 영상을 재구성하는 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. X선을 이용하여 피검사체를 촬영한 영상으로부터 영상을 재구성하는 장치에 있어서, 영상 재구성 장치는, 포지션 1에 따라 압박된 피검사체를 통과한 X선에 기초하여 포지션 1의 X선 촬영 영상을 생성하는 영상 생성부, 포지션 1의 촬영 영상들로부터 3차원 공간상의 감쇠계수를 추정하는 감쇠계수 추정부, 및 포지션 1에 해당하는 디포메이션 모델 및 포지션 1과는 다른 자세로 피검사체가 압박되는 포지션 2에 해당하는 디포메이션 모델에 기초하여, 감쇠계수로부터 포지션 2의 X선 촬영 영상을 합성하는 영상 합성부를 포함할 수 있다.
